About the Author

Maya Butalid is a Filipino author, former political activist, migrant activist, and former city councilor in the Netherlands. She has worked in various Dutch institutions and served as a city councilor in Tilburg. She has reflected on the challenges of living as a migrant, balancing her Filipino identity while embracing a life in the Netherlands.
